Terms of service

Last updated 4 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and travelBuddy when you use the travelBuddy web app. Please read them: by creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

Who we are

travelBuddy is provided by Georgios Assiotis, a private individual, Kliitas, Kapsalos, 3083 Limassol, Cyprus (“we”, “us”). Contact: georgios.assiotis@yahoo.com

What travelBuddy is

travelBuddy helps a group plan and run a trip together: a shared schedule and map, documents such as tickets, shared expenses, polls, lists and local facts, with much of it available offline.

It is a planning tool. It isn’t a travel agency, a booking service or a payment service. We don’t sell tickets or accommodation, check bookings, or move money.

Price

travelBuddy is free to use at the moment. If we introduce paid features, we’ll tell you in advance. Nothing will be charged without your explicit agreement, and the features you use for free today won’t start costing money without notice.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Keep access to your email account and your devices secure: anyone who can open your email can sign in as you, and anyone using your unlocked device can open the trips saved on it.
  • You’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

Trips, roles and invites

  • The person who creates a trip is its organizer. Organizers decide who joins and with which role: organizer, editor or viewer.
  • Anyone with an invite link can join the trip until the link expires, reaches its limit of uses or is deleted, so share links only with the people you mean to invite.
  • Everyone in a trip sees what’s in it. Organizers and editors can change and delete plans, documents and expenses.
  • If you add a child who has no account, you confirm you’re their parent or guardian or have the permission of one. Add only the name the group needs, such as a first name or nickname.
  • An organizer can delete a trip, which permanently deletes everything in it for everyone.

Your content

You keep all rights to what you put into travelBuddy: plans, notes, documents and so on. You give us a licence to store, copy, process and show that content to the members of the trip, only as needed to run travelBuddy. The licence ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies in backups until they’re overwritten.

You’re responsible for your content and for having the right to share it. Upload documents and personal details only if the people in your trip may see them.

Acceptable use

Don’t use travelBuddy to:

  • break the law, or store or share illegal content
  • infringe anyone’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property
  • harass or harm others
  • try to reach trips, accounts or data that aren’t yours, or test, probe or bypass our security
  • upload malware, or overload or disrupt the service, including with automated scraping
  • copy or resell the service

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. If we do, we’ll tell you what we did and why, and how to contest it, unless the law prevents us.

Reporting illegal content

If you believe something in travelBuddy is illegal, email georgios.assiotis@yahoo.com with where it is and why you think it’s illegal. We’ll look at every report carefully and without undue delay, and tell you what we decided.

Information in the app

Exchange rates, weather, local facts, emergency numbers, phrases, maps and directions come from third-party sources and are for guidance only. They can be wrong or out of date.

  • Check important details, such as entry rules, opening times, timetables and emergency numbers, with official sources.
  • In an emergency in the European Union, call 112.
  • Expense balances and settle-up suggestions are a bookkeeping aid, not financial advice. The rates come from the European Central Bank’s daily reference rates.

Offline use and availability

Offline features depend on your device, browser and storage, and on opening a trip while online beforehand. We work hard to keep travelBuddy available and your data safe, but we can’t promise the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. Keep your own copies of essential documents, such as passports and tickets.

We may change, add or remove features. If we decide to shut travelBuddy down, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice so you can save what you need.

Liability

travelBuddy is provided free of charge and as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by information from third-party sources, by other members of your trip, or by events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or intentional misconduct. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Ending

You can stop using travelBuddy at any time and delete your account in your profile. The privacy policy explains what happens to your trips when you do. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can stop using travelBuddy and delete your account before then.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you live in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. Please contact us first: most problems can be solved by email.
